Fruit Stand

Pure fruits of the original garden have mostly been forgotten as quickly as a delicious bite. The muddy gardener created them good for food and good for the eye’s second look. Now, who knows the true journey of the fruit from the farm to the market square crates. The bonanza banana bunches have a time limit for when and why they’re used. Roller shutters are open for exchange. Fruits tilted toward the passerby on the street just like when they were on the branches of trees. Whether hanging on a rowed orchard branches or stand displayed on a city corner the produce when juiced will be sweet, sour or rotten. Apples, mangoes, pomegranates and oranges go into a healthy diet. Simple things go into a wealthy meal like color and plump shapes. Stealthy picked according to its appeal. Pulled from the peal. Juicy lips bathe from the connection to the vine. Fast before fast food. The still life impression goes deep into the open composition of life.

Going one setting to another will show what grows where. End up in the land of Egypt where the dreams of the Pharaoh exposed what God is going to do and lead Joseph to take up his duties. The gospel message bears fruit and is growing throughout the whole world just as it is in you. The message is not getting weaker, but is increasing over time. As it is all over the world the word of truth is getting sweeter, larger and stronger. Cold-pressed into our souls. Not deprived in the food desert because it’s kept all the way alive. Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

Therefore by their fruits you will know them. Some people have slipped in among you. There will even come a time when anyone who kills you will think he’s doing God a favor. Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. That’s a rude smoothie. It’s drunk anyway.

Not all messages are created equal. By their fruits you will recognize them. What’s displayed in your baskets tilted toward the streets? The skins of flesh all have their color and shimmer when polished and set in place. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Fill your baskets.

With a note of caution, the Egyptian fruit stand pauses lives scrubbing too fast forward and too far behind in rewind. Even as we are the enemy’s target and missing the mark there is the way of triumphant endless light. The fruit meets the stand. Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love.
